New account emails are being quarantined
One of the emails generated during the account creation process started being quarantined on 3/8/23. It is the email that is sent to the new user with the subject, "New RC Account". Link to slack thread
I opened a ServiceNow issue: Link to ticket RITM0612195. The suggested solution follows:
Clyde, I spoke to Scott F ... he advises the following:
1) Update the code on Cheaha to not forge support@listserv.uab.edu. Rather, set it up to use a From: address of "DoNotReply@uab.edu". The Reply-To: address being used should help the end user try to reply.
2) For the Research Computing staff who are members of the actual mailing list, add the support@listserv.uab.edu to their individual safe senders list in Outlook.
NOTE: not a wildcard for *@listserv.uab.edu
There was also some discussion of adding DKIM signing, but that didn't make it to the final suggestion. It may be the next step if this doesn't work.
Tasks:
-
Change the From:
address of the emails fromsupport@listserv.uab.edu
toDoNotReply@uab.edu
