Troubleshoot slow Globus <-> LTS transfers

Transfers between Globus and LTS/S3 are extremely slow with file verification turned on.

The slow transfers are due to a bug in our current Ceph version 17.2.7, which is the latest available.

There is a bug in this version that is fixed in 17.2.8: https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/58879

There is currenty an issue to backport the patch to our Ceph version: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/2100625

According to vendor support, this should take "at least a few weeks" to complete.

I'm subscribed to the bug's notifications so I'll proceed when the backport is complete.
